Privacy notice
Social Intent Limited respects your privacy. This notice explains what personal data we collect, why, and what your rights are.
Who we are
Social Intent Limited is the controller of your personal data. We are registered in England and Wales, company number 15373679, at Social Intent Limited, Unit 32, Llys Edmund Prys, St Asaph Business Park, St Asaph LL17 0JA. If you have any question about this notice or want to exercise your rights, email hello@social-intent.com with the subject "Data protection request", or write to us at the address above.
What we collect
- Contact details you give us: name, organisation, role, email address and phone number, for example when you book a call, send a message through this website, email us, or connect with us on LinkedIn.
- Client information we need to do the work you commission from us, including information about your organisation and, where you ask us to interview people, their views. Where a project involves personal data about your staff, trustees or the people you serve, we act under a written agreement with you.
- Purchase information when you buy a guide. Payments are processed by Payhip, who collect your name, email address, billing details and payment card details. We do not see or store your card details. Payhip's privacy policy applies to the payment itself.
- Technical information about your visit to this website, such as pages viewed and the type of device and browser used. We use privacy-respecting analytics that do not identify you and do not use tracking cookies.
Why we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and arrange and hold calls and meetings (legitimate interests, or steps before a contract).
- To deliver the services or guides you have asked for and keep our records (performance of a contract, and legal obligations such as tax and accounting).
- To send you occasional news about our work, guides and events, if you have asked for it or we have worked together. You can stop these at any time by replying or using the unsubscribe link (legitimate interests; consent where required).
- To run and improve this website (legitimate interests).
We do not sell personal data and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
Who we share it with
Only the service providers we need to run the business, each of whom processes data on our instructions: our email and document systems, our scheduling tool (Calendly), our payment and download provider (Payhip), our website host, our accountants and insurers, and professional advisers where needed. Some providers store data outside the UK; where they do, we rely on the UK's international data transfer rules and the providers' standard contractual safeguards.
How long we keep it
Enquiries we keep for up to two years after our last contact. Client and purchase records we keep for six years after the end of the work or the purchase, because tax and accounting law requires it. Interview notes and research data from client projects are kept only as long as the project agreement says, then deleted or returned.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to or restrict how we use it, ask for it in a portable format, and withdraw any consent you have given. We will respond within one month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, although we would welcome the chance to put things right first.
Cookies
This website uses only the cookies it needs to work. Booking a call opens Calendly, and buying a guide opens Payhip; each sets its own cookies under its own policy.
Changes
We will update this notice when our practices change and show the date at the top.
